Energy alternatives
In his State of the Union address, President Bush announced a new Advanced Energy Initiative, including a 22 percent funding increase for clean-energy research.
Does that mean 2006 will be the best year yet for development of alternative fuel sources? A top official at one of the Midwest's premiere energy research facilities says no.
"We're always a couple of cycles behind," said Chris Zygarlicke, deputy associate director for research at the Energy and Environmental Research Center at UND, "so when something like this is announced, it can take several months, maybe a couple of years for it to be realized."
