The 'fear over fact' factor

The suicide bombers who targeted Saudi Arabia's Abqaiq oil refinery Friday went for what Houston energy banker Matt Simmons called "the jugular of the Middle East."

Crude prices leapt more than $2 a barrel after terrorists attempted to drive two explosives-laden cars into the huge complex in an assault a Saudi embassy spokesman said bore "the hallmarks of al-Qaida."

Saudi Oil Minister Ali Naimi assured the markets the world's largest oil exporter was shipping crude as usual.
